My Celeb Moment & The Golden Globes

I had a bit of a celeb moment yesterday and it almost completely passed us by unnoticed. My hub and I were on the cover of the Boston Globe Magazine for their wedding issue. It was most exciting because it was not only a total surprise, but they also chose a photo that so perfectly embodies how I felt that day. Colossally happy.

Then my Sunday only got better. I made dulce de leche chocolate chip cookie bars (recipe to come this week) and got ready for the Golden Globes. I love Awards season. I get to sit in my bathrobe in front of the TV shoveling pasta in my mouth, while yelling at the TV… oh my god, she’s amazing… oh no, that’s a worst dressed lister for sure…

My New Favorite Gift: Pinch in a Pouch

I have a favorite new gift and I just have to share it with you. It was gifted to me recently and I could not get over it. It has everything a girl might need “in a pinch,” all in the tiniest of tiny pouch making it the perfect stocking stuffer or shoot-i-forgot-to-get-you-something-and-now-i’m-seeing-you Hanukkah gift.

The Minimergency Kit (for her) contains… hairspray, clear nail polish, nail polish remover, emery board, lip balm, earring backs, clear elastics, mending kit, double-sided tape, stain remover, deodorant towelette, pain reliever, tampon, breath freshener, dental floss, and an adhesive bandages ALL IN A 3 INCH POUCH! I know it’s crazy. The kit for Moms has all that plus crayons, a thermometer, caffeine gum, sanitizer wipes etc. And there is a great one for guys too with all those weird things they like: lint remover, shoe shine wipes, and styptic pencils (don’t worry, i had no idea what a styptic pencil was either but apparently it’s for razor nicks, minor cuts etc – it’s a guy thing!)

A Fashionable Walk Through The Woods

We’re hurricane-prepared. Sure, we’ve got our flashlights and water ready, but more importantly a fresh batch of fudge brownies with peanut butter frosting (recipe to come, i promise).

Hurricane Sandy will most likely be the end of the gorgeous orange, red, and yellow foliage – but fortunately, I have loads of pictures to share with you today. I was thrilled when asked to style a perfect cable sweater from the Chaps for Kohls line and had the most colorful backdrop in New England last weekend. This fall, cozy sweaters are on my must-have list. I like to pair them with leggings and boots, or even with a long flowy skirt.

My Favorite Red Carpet Moments at the Emmys

Last night was the Emmy’s and as per usual, I had many conversations with my television screen.

Here are some of my favorite looks of the night.

Pretty sure my favorite bling of the night was Emily Van Camp’s Van Cleef diamond bow bracelet. And her J. Mendel dress was pretty gorgeous too.

Best legs of the night: Heidi Klum is saying a big curse word to Seal with this dress!(I’m not sure about the matchy matchy shoes and earrings though.. and I think one slit would have been sufficient)

Actually might be my favorite dress of the night (looked better on TV than photographed): Leslie Mann in an off-the-runway Naeem Khan from the 2013 collection .

January Jones in Zac Posen. Ok, I did not like this on TV, but it photographed well. I really didn’t like her hair and make-up, but that’s just my dont-know-anything-about-anything opinion.

Morena Bacccarin.. still looking for who made this dress, but she is STUNNING in it! Thank god for double sided tape!
