I can’t believe it’s almost Memorial Day weekend. To me this is the start of summer living. BBQs…poolside…in a sundress. It also means weekend getaways and I’m not a girl who shows up at the beach empty-handed. Usually, actually, I’m the crazy (and sweaty) girl on the train with two dozen bagels, several Tupperware’s of baked goods, and a big tote of veggies from my farm share. I’ve been trying to think of ideas to downsize the number of bags to schlep, but up the creativity factor. For Memorial Day, I’m prepping a margarita basket. Two things are vital: tequila and fixins. The rest is all up to you. Bottoms up.
The flowered box is a really special bottle of tequila. My husband says it’s special because of the quality of the tequila. I say it’s special because it comes in a hand-painted wooden box. It’s too expensive unless you stock up when in Mexico, like we did.
I then took three jars and filled them with: citron salt, chipotle salt, and because I don’t like salty drinks a sugary option (hard candies that I crushed). I like the Falksalt flaky salt, but you could also make your own (read here and here).
Other ideas to add to your basket/tote: Triple Sec, fresh fruit, glasses, a funky cocktail shaker, recipe cards… the world is your oyster margarita!

This looks amazing. Nice photos. Can’t wait to be a tester this weekend.
