I am blessed with two amazing sisters. This past weekend, I was extra blessed to have a sisters-only weekend on Martha’s Vineyard. Though we spend tons of time together, sisters-only time is quite rare. I felt a bit of pressure having planned most of the weekend, so I was so relieved when Saturday went by perfectly. We spent the day biking (I was left in the dust), exploring, getting massages, and – of course – eating! Sunday morning over breakfast, we vowed to do this more often. They wanted a date on the calendar ASAP. My mission was accomplished.
And then we headed out on our last exploration. Let’s just say there were three sisters completely lost, an emergency call to the hotel begging them to have a cab meet us with our luggage to take us quickly to the ferry/airport, and – MOM STOP READING HERE – hitching a ride from strangers (albeit the nicest strangers ever).
Thank god, my sisters forgave my planning hiccup and still managed to have the best weekend.

The Island message:
Where to Eat: Art Cliff Diner (breakfast till 2) in Vineyard Haven; Atria for a special dinner in Edgartown; Larsens (seafood fresh off the boat, eaten on the dock) and Beetlebung (great, fresh sandwiches) in Menemsha
What to Do: Explore different areas of the Vineyard by bike. (we rented from RW Cutler). The spa at Mansion House was no frills, but was excellent. Best day was: biking from Edgartown to Vineyard Haven (9 miles), eat at Art Cliff Diner, get massages, shop around, bike back. DO not try to walk from Aquinnah to Menemsha. Lesson learned.
