Lessons from Grandma and A Twix Treat

Yesterday, my Grandma Pearl came home from her card game to the cutest gift from her 94-year old boyfriend, Seymour. He had a beautifully decorated cake waiting on her kitchen table that read “I love you.” Though they only met eight years ago, they’ve developed a very admirable love for one another. May we all have such adoration when we are their age. Or at any age, for that matter.

Inspired by the random act of affection, I decided to make my love a little dessert, too. He’s a candy bar addict so I found a treat that was perfect for him and had it waiting in the refrigerator when he came home.

Twix Trifle

Twix Trifles

Ingredients:
Twix bars
Chocolate pudding
Caramel pudding
Whip cream

In a wine glass or small mason jar, layer pieces of twix, caramel pudding, and then chocolate pudding. Top with whip cream and more pieces of Twix.

* You can buy pre-made pudding and it will be great. If you want to challenge yourself you can make the pudding from scratch. I purchased the Trader Joe’s Belgian Chocolate Pudding, and then I made the caramel pudding from Annie’s Eats.

How sweet….the dessert (how creative Kim! must try it! Yum!) and most of all Seymour’s gesture! We should all have that same loving relationship as we reach our nineties!! Thanks for sharing!
