Yesterday I came home and all I wanted to do was draw a bath, light a few candles, and listen to Adele. Only one problem: our bathtub was full. Overflowing, actually, with engagement and wedding gifts and a few other forgotten items. You see our apartment is seriously lacking closet space and so our bathtub became our storage unit. My friend Beth from B Organized warned me this was a very bad idea. I knew she was right. I promised it was a temporary solution and I would find real homes for these gorgeous gifts. That was almost a year ago. Oops. But last night, I needed bath time so badly that I unloaded the packages, made a homemade bath salt concoction I had read about in Martha Stewart Living, and soaked in peace.
DIY Soothing Lavender Bath Salts
1 cup Epsom salt (from your local drug store, mine even has a lavender version so I don’t need oil)
1/4 cup sea salt
2-3 tbs of baking soda
Drops of essential oils (i clearly like lavender)
Combine above ingredients in a jar. Sprinkle 3-5 spoonfuls in your bath. Relax.
Don’t forget to listen to Adele. http://youtu.be/Jc4IloO2oy4
