When Dean and I moved in together, I was terrified so excited. We combined what was salvageable from our respective studios (he lost the man chair battle, thankgod) and went on an exhausting hunt for new furniture. We both liked the Restoration Hardware look with neutral shades, and pops of color here and there. We wanted a dining table (a giant move for young urban folk who for years had eaten meals on the couch, without any shame). The space for a table was narrow, but we were determined to find something unique. We visited From the Source in Greenpoint, a 35,000 sq. ft. warehouse filled with furniture and various slabs of wood. For a custom table, we picked our wood, size, stain, and metal base. We loved the recycled mango wood and a natural stain. And in a few weeks when it was delivered to our new home, we were a family who had dinner sitting at a table.
*Be sure to measure your space properly. We did not. Luckily, From the Source was great to work with and they found a new slab for us. Ok, there was a little more drama in between, but it all worked out.
